After defeating the Warrior for the winged eagle at the Royal Rumble, Sgt. Slaughter routinely defeated the former champ in Steel Cage matches on the non-televised loop. Researching these finishes in lieu of footage yielded two moments of sheer insanity from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter archives.

And you thought WWE was problematic in the Attitude Era, Jesus wept.

Two things. Two awful things.

1) After Warrior lost, in order to send the fans home happy, Sherri Martel was left hanging at the top of the cage wearing just her bra and panties. The problem here is that many of the fans did not leave the arena in jubilant spirits. Dave Meltzer attended one such show and reported that several mothers dragged their kids away from the scene in a state of fury.

2) In order to protect the Warrior from the clean loss as much as possible, the Orient Express joined the Iraqi sympathisers for the beatdown. One is mystified as to how Vince arrived at this particular duo.

Surely he didn't conflate the foreign menaces!

Clean rating: Slaughter didn't win with much in the way of valour.
