He can't attend things like the Hall of Fame because it would quite frankly look ridiculous. Can you imagine him sat there in his Deadman gear while everyone else is in smart suits? It would be silly. As for him just ditching the Taker get-up and appearing normally, that would totally kill his unique character. As such he doesn't do many outside projects. In the mid 90's however, the WWF sent Taker out to appear on a sports studio show. As you can tell, dressed in his full cartoon era gimmick, Undertaker looked ridiculous. Here he is with the make up on and everything as he attempts to talk seriously with the suited host and guest callers.
