The Undertaker's 10 Greatest Hell In A Cell Moments
3. He Innovated The Entire Concept
The very first Hell in a Cell took place on October 5th, 1997 at WWF In Your House: Badd Blood, and it was between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker for the right to face WWF Champion Bret Hart at Survivor Series. The match set the standard for Hell in a Cell matches going forward. The fight eventually works its way outside as Michaels tries to gets away up the cage, and eventually comes crashing off the side of it through the announce table. As stunning as this match was, the most memorable moment happened to The Undertaker as opposed to done by him. For a long time, Paul Bearer had threatened The Undertaker with the reveal that his half-brother Kane was in fact alive, and out for revenge. When it looked like The Undertaker had Michaels beat, the lights went out and out came Bearer and Kane, immortalised by Vince McMahon's call of "That's gotta be Kane!" Kane ripped the cell door of its hinges and Tombstoned his brother, giving Shawn Michaels the win and setting up a rivalry that lasted nearly fifteen years.
