Update On Brian 'Road Dogg' James' New Role In WWE

The latest on Brian 'Road Dogg' James following his return to WWE.

Brian 'Road Dogg' James likely started work in his new role as WWE's Vice President of Live Events during the final weekend of August, reports PWInsider's Mike Johnson.

The 53-year-old's return to the promotion coincided with Jeff Jarrett's departure from a similar role. Jarrett, who was once paired with James' 'Roadie' character on WWE television, had been employed as Senior Vice President of Live Events between May and August this year.

PWInsider broke the news that James was heading back to the promotion in August. It was stressed, at the time, that 'Road Dogg' wasn't necessarily a direct replacement for his fellow WWE Hall of Famer, despite the similarity in job titles.

WWE had let James go alongside a host of other staff members in January. The D-Generation X member had been working at the Performance Center at the time, having served in a variety of other functions since coming back to WWE in 2011, including writing and production duties.

James spent parts of his unemployment period literally begging All Elite Wrestling chief Tony Khan for a job, doing so by his own admission. This didn't pan out.
