Update On CM Punk's AEW Exit, Potential Young Bucks Meeting, And More
What would have reportedly needed to happen before the Young Bucks agreed to sit down with CM Punk?

The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided some new updates on CM Punk's departure from AEW.
'The Best in the World's deal with the company was officially terminated a week ago, with Tony Khan later explaining how he feared for his life during the backstage incident involving Punk and Jack Perry at All In 2023.
Now, Dave Meltzer has revealed in the latest WON that, despite several reports claiming that a meeting was due to take place between Punk and the Young Bucks in the time before his exit, the latter duo weren't actually approached about the meeting due to "the belief it would be turned down by the Young Bucks."
Said meeting would have reportedly gone down on the August 23 show in Duluth, Georgia, the event that involved both Dynamite and Collision being taped on the same night.
Also, around the time this potential meeting was being discussed, AEW were told The Elite that the company had received a legal letter regarding skits going down on their Being the Elite show. This document alleged that the skits in question violated the terms of a non-disparagement agreement both the Punk and Elite sides had signed, with this agreement prohibiting either side from publicly talking negatively about each other.
The sketch that led to this legal letter being sent involved a storyline that had been going on for years, with Matt Jackson trying to make up for screwing up an endorsement deal for The Elite. The group were left fuming at Matt due to thinking they'd have some serious dollar coming in and being left broke after spending some big money on expensive purchases.
They would then ask Matt to apologise for his mistake in the storyline. Punk's name wasn't mentioned at any point.
A source "very close to the situation" also noted how the Bucks would have been open to sitting down and even perhaps working with Punk had he managed to go six months without an incident.
In terms of how Punk's exit has affected the mood backstage, Meltzer noted that the former AEW World Champion's supporters were understandably upset, while others reportedly claimed that the atmosphere backstage was more positive and were quick to state how fun it was to work on last weekend's events.
And lastly, Meltzer would say that he "wouldn’t at all rule out AEW giving him another shot as crazy as that may sound today," if Punk didn't end up going to WWE.
Stranger things have happened, folks.
