New details on Mark Henry's role following AEW Rampage commentary shake-up.

Mark Henry will remain part of AEW Rampage's broadcast team following the recent shake-up in the announce booth, reports Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Ricky Starks claimed earlier this week that he was replacing Henry as a full-time member of the commentary team. It transpired soon after that this wasn't the case, with the show moving towards a rotating cast (including Starks) instead.

Per this latest report, Henry will still be in the announce booth from time to time, having served as a permanent commentator alongside Excalibur, Chris Jericho, and Taz from Rampage's inception. He will continue doing his pre-main event interviews and serve as a host on the Friday night show.

Henry was brought into AEW at Double Or Nothing 2021 on 30 May, making a surprise appearance towards the end of the show following the expiration of his WWE contract. The promotion later issued a press release confirming the former World Champion had been hired as an analyst, coach, scout, and mentor.

There is currently no word on whether or not Henry plans on wrestling for AEW, having last stepped into the ring in 2018.
