With Ricochet having officially become a free agent after the expiry of his WWE contract, there's now somewhat of an update on the status of Natalya.

As per Fightful Select, Natalya was not backstage at last night's Raw, with the third-generation star's current WWE deal due to expire at some point this summer.

This report notes that both parties have been in discussions over the one-time SmackDown Women's Champion penning a new deal with the market leader, but nothing has been agreed on as of this writing. WWE is hopeful of re-signing the Calgary native, although the company is said to have been "very quiet" about any developments on this situation.

Of course, this comes on the heels of Mercedes Moné alluding to both Natalya and her husband Tyson Kidd - nowadays a popular producer in WWE - being more than welcome in AEW during a recent interview.

Natalya is one of several WWE names whose contract status has been in the news in recent months. Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Chad Gable have all signed new deals with the promotion, although Becky Lynch and Ricochet allowed their contracts to expire. While Ricochet is expected to end up in AEW, Lynch is taking a hiatus from the ring under the belief that she'll eventually sign a new WWE deal down the line. Legado Del Fantasma's Angel and Berto are also talents whose WWE contracts expire this summer.
