While there were some rumblings earlier in the week that a new deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery was imminent or agreed in principle, there's now somewhat of an update on such chatter.

As per Fightful Select, a source close to WBD notes that there is nothing "imminent" on this topic and that neither AEW nor WBD have any immediate plans to announce a new deal between the two parties. Both sides expect a new deal to be reached, but the framework of any such deal has not been agreed upon as of yet.

AEW President Tony Khan and Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav are due to be in Paris, France for the 2024 Olympic Games - which technically gets started later today ahead of the formal opening ceremony on Friday - and the intention is for Khan and Zaslav to meet. While that meeting has been planned for months to discuss a new TV deal for AEW, it's noted that there is no guarantee that an agreement will be reached coming out of this get-together.

Other sources told Fightful that WBD has likey made an offer to renew AEW programming, but that, as of now, there is no agreement locked in. The existing AEW-WBD deal runs until the end of 2024, with that deal seeing Dynamite air on TBS, and Rampage and Collision air on TNT.
