Update On Popular Injured AEW Star

Potentially devastating news ahead of AEW All In.

Jamie Hayter

The latest news on injured former AEW Women's champion Jamie Hayter is - potentially - heartbreaking.

Dave Meltzer reports in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that "We don’t have much on Jamie Hayter but there has been at least talk she won’t make it back for Wembley, which obviously would be the goal if possible."

Elsewhere in the same issue, Meltzer wrote, when pondering the strange inertia heading into the All In, "Even without Bryan Danielson and probably Jamie Hayter, the company is loaded with talent so putting on two great wrestling shows isn’t an issue. The issue is still the idea of two PPVs in eight days being a scenario I wouldn’t want to do."

It should be pointed out that this isn't definitive; Meltzer was careful to stress that "we don't have much" and what the WON does have is merely "talk", and nothing official.

The Eastleigh-born powerhouse was bound to receive an incredible reception in Wembley Stadium. She would be performing in front of her home country, obviously, but she was getting massively over in the United States, too. Fans were drawn to her excellent, impactful in-ring style and the intent behind the strikes she didn't land. One of the most believable wrestlers on the scene even beyond the AEW women's division, Hayter's potential absence from the show, and indeed TV in general, is sorely missed. There seems to be a slight chance that she could make the show. Who knows: this could be a smokescreen designed to make the return all the more welcome.

Here's hoping.
