Ricochet's name has been all over the pro wrestling news cycle this week, starting with a report suggesting he could be on his way out of WWE if still bound by the original three-year deal he signed with the promotion, which would have expired later this month.

The high-flyer has since commented on the situation, calling the speculation "fake."

Now, finally, Dave Meltzer has brought clarity in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, stating that Ricochet's current WWE contract expires in the summer of 2024. This is because he signed a new five-year deal with the company upon joining the main roster from NXT in 2019. The extension went down at the height of WWE's hoarding spell, with Vince McMahon inking wrestlers to long-term deals to eliminate the threat of them potentially jumping ship to AEW.

Ricochet's contract extension was not reported at the time (2019), hence this week's confusion on a potential expiry date.

With confirmation that he'll be sticking around for the foreseeable future, here's hoping Ricochet experiences an upturn in televised fortunes, having struggled for prominence throughout 2020, culminating in him losing a lopsided feud with RETRIBUTION.
