Ups And 2 Downs From WWE NXT (Oct 14)

With Halloween Havoc 2 weeks away, NXT crowned its new Number 1 Contenders.

Despite pushing really hard on the idea that everything's now scary because it's Halloween, NXT actually finds itself as one of the most comforting things on television at present. Yes, we've seen a few botches that have elicited a fright, but the quickfire nature of the TV-to-TakeOver schedule means they've now got themselves in a reassuring routine.

We're about two weeks away from Halloween Havoc, and we're also about two weeks away from TakeOver 31. Book, Promote, Deliver, Repeat. The whole world might be going to hell outside the window but the dim glow of your TV light on a Wednesday night is all the comfort any of us need.

Why yes, I am now facing a second prolonged period of isolation alone in my flat this year, why do you ask?

Anyway, tonight would tell us who'd face Breezango for the NXT Tag Team Championships, who'd face Io Shirai for the NXT Women's Championship, and who'd be holding the NXT North American Championship come October 31st. All that, combined with multiple segments for William Regal, and you've got all the comfort viewing you'd ever need.
