Ups And 2 Downs From WWE NXT (Oct 14)

DOWNS

2. We're Not Sworthy

Triple H vs Mick Foley only got two championship matches. The Rock and John Cena only got two championship matches. Bayley and Sasha's era-defining NXT rivalry that elevated them both to the very summit of women's wrestling and redefined the entire division only had two championship matches.

Swerve and Santos Escobar are going to get three.

It's quite a bizarre segment to try and break down, actually. Jake Atlas took on Ashante "Thee" Adonis in a throwback to NXT's glory days of just throwing two developing talents together to give them both some much needed ring time. They were interrupted, sort of, by Mendoza and Wilde, before both pairings came to blows.

After being rebuffed at ringside the villains of the piece were joined by Santos IN A SPICY JACKET, before Swerve came out to even the odds. In the midst of all of this there was a roll-up but... that's pretty much it.

While it's nice that NXT are going to throw two more hopefuls into this feud, reforming the J.O.B Squad just to add some heft to another Swerve vs Santos match is underwhelming in the extreme. I love Swerve, but he's been beaten twice now and there are other Cruiserweights who deserve a shot.
