Vince Russo's 10 Insider Stories From Running WWF Magazine
5. Creating Angles In The Magazine
OK, so the Raw Magazine is beginning to take on a life of its ownonly one small problem---the in-ring product was still quite bland and boring. So, in my mind, if we already had a fake columnist in Vic Venom, why not shoot fake angles for the magazine? In other words---if the storylines on TV were going to be weak, then we would just create different ones in the magazine that werent! And, thats exactly what we did. I can clearly even remember a story where we actually saw Ted DiBiase paying off Doink the Clown!!! Luckily, at that time, nobody was paying any attention to what we were doing, because truthfully---we were getting away with murder right under Vince McMahons nose.
