Vince Russo's 10 Insights Into The Montreal Screwjob

5. Watching The Main Event Sat Next To The Undertaker

Montreal Taker I sat down to watch the main event like everybody else---I had no idea what the finish was whatsoever. Everybody in the back was glued to the monitor at that point. Everybody had heard of the Bret-Shawn scuttlebutt by now, and the entire locker room was interested to see where this thing was going. I remember as I was watching the match, the Undertaker was sitting next to me on my right. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Shawn put Bret in the sharpshooter. I didn€™t even have three seconds to think before Earl Hebner called for the bell. Holy crap---that was the finish I gave Vince at his house! Before that could even sink in, the Undertaker rose from his chair, said a few cuss words and powered off---he wasn€™t happy! All I could think about was that if he knew that idea stemmed from me---I could have been the DEAD MAN a few mere minutes later!!!
