Vince Russo's 10 Insights Into The Montreal Screwjob

4. My Encounter With Mick Foley

The back was silent . . . just dead silence. Nobody knew what to say. There had never been a moment quite like this in the history of the business---to my knowledge any way. It seemed like we were all just standing around in shock---just seeing what the aftermath was going to be. It was at that point that Mick Foley came up to me and said, €œYou should be ashamed of yourself.€ At that point my heart just sunk. Here was a guy that I respected more than any one, and those words coming from him were like a dagger in my heart. But still, I knew why Vince did this. I knew that he did it in an effort to protect his company and everybody that worked for him. But, nobody was going to understand that TODAY. In time, maybe, but, not TODAY.
