Wade Barrett Says Papa Shango is Surprise WWE Royal Rumble Entrant

Is the voodoo practitioner returning at this Sunday's Royal Rumble?

WWE Superstar Wade Barrett claims the voodoo practitioner Papa Shango has one of the guest spots to compete in Sunday's 30-man Royal Rumble match. He wrote on twitter;
"Just heard from my good pal Papa Shango. He tells me he has one of the guest spots in this year's Royal Rumble match. Great news."
Does this mean we can expect Shango, The Ultimate Warrior's biggest arch nemesis (!), to make a return on Sunday, winning the Rumble by making everyone in the ring puke? The answer is probably not. You may recall around this time last year that there were jokes going around on the internet that Shango was to make a guest spot surprise in the 40-man Royal Rumble match but it turned out to be just some wrestlers goofing around. If I remember rightly CM Punk was one of the WWE Superstars making the outrageous claim and Barrett is probably just doing the same this year. Maybe this has become an annual thing now. I mean let's think about it for a second. If Papa Shango was really to make a return on Sunday in a surprise guest spot, wouldn't they want to keep it secret and not have one of their wrestlers tweet it? And does anyone believe Barrett is 'pals' with Papa Shango? Having said all this, it is strange internet goofing around that sometimes makes these things happen. In a way, the more it becomes a joke that Papa Shango might return at the Royal Rumble, the more likely WWE creative will actually go ahead and do it to pay off the joke! Charles Wright, the 50 year old guy who wrestled as Shango (and also as The Godfather) retired from wrestling some years ago but has been known to comeback and make one-off appearances. I'm sure if WWE called him to be Shango again for one night only, he'd do it.
