WWE's official Twitter account posted some pretty gnarly photos of Drew McIntyre's war wounds following this week's episode of SmackDown.

The side-by-side pics showed the damage done by brutal steel chair shots rained down on the number one contender by The Usos. Both Jimmy and Jey went to town on Drew's body - his back, arms and shoulders were sliced up, bloody and bruised.

Ouch.

This isn't the first time WWE/McIntyre has posted pics like this after his most physical matches and segments. Previously, both Drew and Sheamus showed off the after effects of a particularly stiff bout several years ago during the 'ThunderDome' era.

Of course, this is all part of the company's plan to rally support behind McIntyre ahead of the upcoming Clash At The Castle stadium show in Cardiff, Wales. There, Drew challenges Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Title, and most fans agree that the big Scot has a decent chance of leaving with both belts.

That may be wishful thinking though. Fans have been in Drew's corner since he carried the WWE Title with distinction during an uncertain time for the promotion in 2020.
