WCPW True Legacy: 10 Awesome Moments
6. Joseph Conners Tastes The Freak Of Nature From The Top Rope
As bitter a match as True Legacy could throw up, issues between 'Local Hero' Joe Hendry and WCPW World Champion Joseph Conners stretch right back to the beginning of WhatCulture Pro Wrestling's history. Once tag-team partners, that union disintegrated when Conners selfishly turned his back on Hendry to become champ.
Having waited for what seemed like an eternity, Joe Hendry now had his moment. On one of WCPW's biggest platforms yet, the Edinburgh native had a crack at the World Title. Better yet, he'd also be able to get his hands on Conners and put the cocky champion in his place all at once.
Using the title belt itself, Conners escaped with the strap still firmly around his waist. Before that happened though, he was seeing stars following a massive 'Freak Of Nature' Fallaway Slam from the top rope.
Hendry's strength was evident for all to see, there was some serious venom in the way he arched his back and hurled Conners to the canvas. The biting pain of the ring mat was obvious, it's amazing that Conners was able to recover.
