The difference, however, is that while Dave is a mid-level star who could potentially be lured back by a huge paycheck from Vince, Dwayne is the biggest movie star in the world. He is obscenely wealthy and is swamped in lucrative film projects. The only way Rock returns to the squared circle to compete is if he wants to. That said, whatever The Rock wants, The Rock gets. He’s one of the few individuals Vince will allow to do whatever he feels like on WWE’s time and money.

With that kind of bargaining power, rather than be shoehorned into a program with his cousin Roman Reigns (which Vince would likely drool at), Rock can basically feud with whomever he feels like. Kevin Owens? Samoa Joe? Brock Lesnar (as was the original plan for WrestleMania XXX)? The possibilities are endless, and while Dwayne’s film career has likely kept him sidelined from wrestling indefinitely, as we’ve established: The Rock does whatever he wants.
