What Happened Next - 10 Wrestlers Who Were Cut In Epic 2014 Talent Releases

8. JTG

Credit to JTG for staying employed as long as he did. While his partner, the much more physically intimidating Shad, was released in 2010, JTG somehow held on for four more years, rarely doing anything of note. Or really anything at all. He made doing nothing into an art form.

In fact, up to his release in June of 2014 JTG hadn’t wrestled a single televised match that year. In 2013, he didn’t have a single televised match on Raw or SmackDown. How the hell did he keep that job?

Part of his “success” is due to the man flat-out hiding from work. As revealed on the Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast, Curt Hawkins claimed that JTG would “hide” backstage to avoid being booked for any sort of match. It worked out for him.

While JTG seems to have been liked backstage, he’s unlikely to come back to the company. He keeps semi-active on the independent scene but hasn’t tried to really make a name for himself. However, knowing how random Vince McMahon can be with his hiring decisions you can’t completely rule it out.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
