3. Evan Bourne

Had Evan Bourne stayed out of trouble, he probably would have made hundreds of thousands of dollars more than he has at this point in his career. If he was still in WWE, he might be cast as a top babyface Cruiserweight on 205 Live. He'd be a great foil for Neville! He’s still a popular act, but there’s no doubt things should have played out a lot better for him over the past few years.

Just as he was getting a nice push in Air Boom, Bourne was busted for a Wellness Policy violation. Then he was busted for another one. And then, he was injured and out of action for an entire year. He never returned to the main roster on TV. Bourne went back to being Matt Sydal and pursued life on the independent scene and has done pretty well for himself by appearing in Evolve, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, New Japan, and now Impact.

However, in 2016, he was arrested in Japan under the suspicion of marijuana smuggling. He pled guilty to the charge. That’s not going to endear him to WWE if he was interested in returning anytime soon on a full-time basis. For now, he seems happy with booking his own schedule and will probably continue on that road for the next few years.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
