Hopes were high amongst some more than others, but the entire wrestling world was intrigued by WWE's announcement last June that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff would become overseers of Raw and SmackDown respectively.

Heyman is still there. Bischoff, obviously, isn't.

During a special episode of his '83 Weeks' podcast (aired exclusively for Patreon subscribers), Bischoff revealed exactly when he knew his days in the company were numbered. It didn't take long - Eric told co-host Conrad Thompson that he was only between six-eight weeks in before realising that things weren't working out.

Bisch says it wasn't exactly a secret either. Most within WWE knew that he wasn't a great fit (though Eric did also say that Vince McMahon did everything he could to make things work). His four-month experience was also eye-opening in the sense that it renewed Bischoff's respect for Paul Heyman.

He described the Raw figurehead as "a f*cking rock star", and praised him for being able to manage as much as he does. Things didn't click for Eric the same way, and he was replaced by Bruce Prichard in October 2019.
