Which Pioneering ECW & WWE Women's Star Just Announced Her Retirement?

Former ECW and WWE star Jazz told Chris Van Vliet that she wrestled her final match this past Sunday.

Jazz revealed that she'd been planning a special retirement tour throughout 2020, but that changed with the onset of a global health crisis - instead, she decided to quietly hang up her boots and move on so she could focus on spending more time with her daughters.

The 22-year veteran also had nagging issues with her knees and back, and she knew the time was right to say goodbye. It does suck that she wasn't able to do so on a larger scale, but that's kinda' challenging during a pandemic.

Jazz had been NWA Women's Champion for a whopping 948 days before injuries forced her to vacate the belt in April 2019. That's another thing she's sore about; riding high as champion during the (admittedly brief) Powerrr era would've been a nice send off for Jazz too.

During the late-90s, Jazz helped pioneer the idea of women competing against men in Paul Heyman's ECW. She parlayed that into two successful spells in WWE between 2001-2005 and 2006-2007.
