Why Bray Wyatt's WWE Return Is Bigger Than You Think
That's nearly a full eighth of one's life expectancy, and Wyatt is still drumming up a staggering level of interest. It's crackers. Maybe if he isn't some teleporting dipsh*t after two months, it could work. That is staying power. Nine years of absolute sh*te, and people still think it might be different. What if it actually is?!
You suspect that Triple H is yet to make up his mind. He inherited the Head of the Table gimmick and every unworthy heir to it alike. It would be nice, of course, if WWE actually had a triumphant babyface in mind for a long time and had built that act up, but it didn't happen when Vince was there, and Triple H clearly has different people in mind. As in, actual people who really exist.
Any business leader in any venture will follow the numbers. Drew McIntyre and Aleister Black were neck-and-neck in terms of deciding Brock Lesnar's opponent at WrestleMania 36. Ultimately, Drew was selected following close scrutiny of the quarter hours - and neither of them drew anything approaching that 0.70.
There's a counterargument here that goes beyond a number that might prove to be an aberration, a curiosity of the sort that more often that not acts as the ceiling. CM Punk never reached the heights of the First Dance, and didn't sell out a smaller venue in Chicago following his massive return (though he was AEW's biggest historic draw despite that).
Wyatt was purportedly difficult to work with.
