With Netflix currently at work on a documentary spotlighting Vince McMahon, Triple H has now been discussing this doc and how McMahon initially thought nobody would have even the slightest interest in his life and career.

Speaking to Roz & Mocha – as picked up on by Fightful – Vince’s son-in-law detailed how the WWE Chairman was always hesitant when the idea of such a feature came up. Instead, McMahon felt that the masses would have more interest in exploring the story of the on-screen talents working for his promotion, rather than diving deep on VKM’s own history.

As the Game explained:

“Prior to now, Vince was always hesitant to do it. With Vince, he really doesn’t see himself – while Mr. McMahon is one of the most epic characters, he doesn’t see himself as part of the programming. When you ask him about those things, he goes, ‘Nobody is interested in me. They want to know about the stars and performers’. The truth is, they do [want to known about McMahon]."

On what the most difficult part of this process is, Triple H explained how making this documentary “succinct” is a challenge, given the sheer insanity and ups and downs on McMahon’s life away from WWE and in how he revolutionised the pro wrestling industry.

Bill Simmons of HBO’s Andre the Giant documentary is producing this multi-part project, with FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened’s Chris Smith is on directing duties. At this stage, no release date has been confirmed for this to-be-titled doc.
