Why WWE Just Made Its Biggest Mistake In YEARS

Sasha Banks
WWE.com

She is a firecracker of a performer who is also demonstrably capable of breaking the internet whenever she debuts a flattering new outfit or displays...suggestive body language.

It's just as well that this is a truthful and passionate take, because if you bury Sasha Banks online, you best log off.

Her fanbase is the most loyal of any pro wrestler in an era defined by tribalism and stan culture. Her fans are obsessed with her. In the right context and with the most committed build, she moves the needle more than any other independent contractor in the entire world. And yet, this year, she had to petition to do something of note with a midcard belt that only she gave a sh*t about it. Vince McMahon is extremely erratic and impatient when promoting a star act. He loses interest quickly in most cases. The "three weeks" principle is a meme, and Austin Theory is scant evidence that he will sometimes persist for longer than that, but generally, he really can't be bothered to play the long game. He doesn't have to do anything with Sasha Banks other than push her in a prominent position.

And, weirdly, he barely ever did.
