Why WWE Just Made Its Biggest Mistake In YEARS
WWE is potentially losing a major ratings draw at a time in which Roman Reigns has opted to go part-time, Cody Rhodes is facing a long spell on the shelf, and WWE just barely drew a 3,000 gate for RAW this week. Vince McMahon slapped Austin Theory to endorse him, so that's probably an overreaction and everything is going to be OK.
The impact of Sasha's potential departure has indirect ramifications, too. WWE has to market itself effectively for all manner of reasons. The company must be able to brag about itself in the public eye when attracting sponsors, negotiating rights fees, and generally not looking like a sh*t-show of a circus that the average person thinks is as backwards as f*ck.
Sasha Banks represents two of WWE’s most well-received developments in recent years, and realistically, there haven’t been too many of them. She was a highlight of NXT and more importantly, for optics purposes, was instrumental in the "Women's Revolution".
She was a Horsewomen.
