Why WWE's New Faction Is Already Doomed To Fail
When WWE holds up a mirror to itself, it invariably likes the reflection. WWE is immune to the systemic change Ryan Satin reported overnight.
CM Punk couldn't change the system. Paul Heyman couldn't change the system. Hell, even Triple H won't let guys cut unscripted promos on NXT. NXT just hired more writers, per PWInsider. For this faction to work, WWE would require the self-awareness to admit how awful literally everything about it is, have the creativity to improve every facet of its creative, and allow *checks notes* Cedric Alexander to bask in the glow of its great comeback story.
This is impossible. You need only watch the Randy Orton Vs. Drew McIntyre promo exchange on the very same show to grasp how much value WWE places on itself to understand why. WWE is more protective over itself than the Gundertaker is.
Again: WWE has reached a point by which they have become so inherently arrogant, and disconnected from reality, that they believe what they are doing is "the way" - even if what they are doing is horrendous - simply because they are doing it. They've been on top so long that that they are doing must be the way.
Remember the Hacker? This is basically the Hacker. The Hacker was meant to be Mustafa Ali using the advanced technological skills he developed in...either the police academy or wrestling school to uncover the evil and the rot within the WWE system. WWE dropped the Hacker because WWE drops everything.
