Will The AEW TNT Title Change Name After TBS Move?
Here's what'll happen to the TNT Title when Dynamite moves to TBS.
AEW Dynamite's upcoming move to TBS will not impact the TNT Title.
Dave Meltzer confirmed as much during today's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that Miro's belt won't be changing names despite being christened after Dynamite's current station, which the show will depart in 2022.
News of AEW's new deal with WarnerMedia had led to questions on the TNT Title's status. As announced yesterday, Dynamite will move to TBS next year, with AEW receiving an alleged eight-figure sum for a deal that will also see a new one-hour weekly show, Rampage, debut on 13 August. Tony Khan has commented that despite the 10 pm, Friday night timeslot, Rampage will be treated as an A-level show on par with Dynamite.
In addition, AEW will air four quarterly supercards on TNT as of 2022.
Miro is currently eight days into his reign as TNT Champion, having defeated Darby Allin on last week's show. The most recent episode of Dynamite saw him booked to defend against Top Flight's Dante Martin next week. Assuming he is successful there, the former Rusev will then wrestle Lance Archer at Double or Nothing on 30 May.
