Women's Wrestlers With The Most World Titles (Across All Major Promotions)
5. Gail Kim (8)
7 TNA Knockouts World Championships
1 WWE Women's Championship
As the examples of Taya Valkyrie or Deonna Parruzzo show, a great WWE career is not requisite to feature on this list. For the longest time, TNA / Impact was the alternative for women who did not make it or felt undermined by WWE; it was the place that offered not the easiest, but the worthiest shot at redemption. No one illustrates this more than Gail Kim.
TNA needed a great all-round performer to build the Knockouts scene around, and Kim needed a stage where she could play the starring role she deserved. Her contribution was nothing short of foundational for the division: an acclaimed rivalry against Awesome Kong gave instant prestige to the Knockouts title. It was the most relevant women's wrestling had been since the heyday of Trish Stratus, or Wendi Richter, or actually, maybe ever. At the very least, it exceeded all that was to be found on American television at the time.
Across her two runs, Kim earned an incomparable array of honours. She is the inaugural and record seven-time Knockouts Champion, held it a record 711 combined days, won the inaugural Queen of the Knockouts and was the first female inductee in their Hall of Fame. Miss TNA if there ever was one.
