WrestleMania 31: 8 Reasons Interest Is At An All-Time Low

6. The Absencetaker

Next to Paul Heyman - who is doing definitively classic work on the mic right now €“ there€™s isn€™t a better promo in WWE than Bray Wyatt. But not even a great talker such as he can carry an angle all by himself, which is exactly what he€™s been asked to do. We understand the thought process behind not wanting to show The Undertaker onscreen until Mania to entice people to buy the network, but holding him off TV entirely clearly isn€™t working. Taker€™s recent angles have traditionally been some of the most well-booked on the show (except for the abysmal build to WM29 vs. CM Punk) and to deprive fans of what could have been some intriguing moments between he and Wyatt is a shame. So far all we€™ve gotten is weeks of Bray cutting promos about being the new face of fear and a lightning bolt setting his haunted rocking chair ablaze. Clearly, there€™s going to be some silliness involved - after all, The Undertaker€™s character practically demands it - but at least give us a glimpse of the man we€™re supposed to get behind when he returns to vanquish his newfound rival. Something that probably shouldn€™t even happen. But that€™s another article entirely.
