Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg didn’t headline WrestleMania 33 like many had anticipated, but it did exceed all expectations. The duo went for less than five minutes, but they put on an explosive war of a match that was everything it needed to be, and served-up more physicality and ruthlessness than almost anything else on the show.

Doubts over Goldberg’s physical condition meant nobody expected this match to last more than a couple of moves, but Bill took a surprising amount of damage, and ate at least a dozen German Suplexes. He held his own with a multitude of Spears (including a particularly nasty one through the barricade) and a huge Jackhammer, but he couldn’t keep the Beast down. Lesnar kicked-out of the Jackhammer for the first time, took his opponent to Suplex City, then finished him off with a decisive F5-induced victory.

It was an awesome sprint, and a real jolt of energy following the horrendous Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt match. Brock retook the throne in spectacular fashion, concluding one of WWE’s biggest storylines in the most satisfying way imaginable, and putting him back on top of the mountain for the first time in two years.
