A vintage twist ending to one of the best-booked matches on the entire card, Nikki Bella's rejection of a John Cena marriage proposal could potentially cap off a nightmare evening for 'The Champ'.

Following the match (which would ideally end in a cheap victory for The Miz and Maryse), a dejected Cena could attempt to turn the tight around for the fallen duo with by popping the question Nikki has waited a reality TV lifetime to hear.

Instead of breaking down in tears and emotionally accepting though, the 'Fearless' Bella twin would turn her back on her boyfriend, leading John to rise from bended knee and wonder why the hesitation.

It's at that point she kicks him hard in the groin and storms out of WrestleMania, leaving a fallen Cena and the capacity crowd to wonder what on earth they'd just seen.

In subsequent weeks, Nikki could venomously cut down their relationship, suggesting she was trapped in a stereotypical patriarchy while she viewed her contemporaries and colleagues starting a revolution.

With Cena off television, she would return to the nasty heel role that resulted in her becoming the longest-reigning Divas Champion of all time, and briefly refocus her efforts on winning her first Women's Title.
