With their 'Total Bellas Bullsh*t' finale on the go-home edition of Smackdown Live!, the Miz and Maryse dragged their lingering distaste with Daniel Bryan into the WrestleMania programme with John Cena and Nikki Bella, finally creating an opportunity for Bryan to gain physical retribution on the A-list pair after months of verbal sparring.

The great frustration of the endless disputes between career rivals Daniel Bryan and The Miz has been the knowing lack of genuine payoff, with Bryan's concussion-led retirement ensuring a WWE in-ring return is completely off the table.

However, in booking the match and in subsequent follow up promos, Bryan has made repeat mention of 'face punching', shoe-horning the way he could finally take physical retribution on his loudmouthed foe.

Teased into it from the demeaning realty TV segments, Daniel is the perfect foil to assist Cena and Nikki especially with Miz and Maryse also mocking his heavily pregnant wife Brie in the build-up.

As Smackdown Live! General Manager, he'd be bringing his position into disrepute through interference, but the interjection would allow months more of aggression from The Miz as he hopefully moves up the card on the blue brand regardless of Sunday's result.
