9. It All Goes Wrong

We don't see Undertaker again until the Royal Rumble itself, where he ends up drawing a promisingly late number (let's say 25. Just because). He looks in decent shape, he eliminates a couple of people and manages to make it to the final four (if we're fantasy booking the whole thing, it ends up being Taker, Finn - who made it all the way from number one - Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin). Sadly, though, it just isn't to be - Taker is the first of the final four to be dumped out, leaving the crowd stunned and the Deadman taking a lonely stroll to the back.

Oh, and around an hour earlier, we also witnessed John Cena come up short against AJ Styles once again and failing to land a landmark 16th title. Cena still has at least a couple of great years left in him - leave that storyline for next year's Mania and let this angle breathe on its own. As it stands, though, we have two very demoralised WWE icons with little to look forward to in the Mania build...
