WrestleMania 33 Results Predictions

7. Hugs Make Mugs Out Of Charlotte And Co.

The one thing all these WrestleMania matches have in common so far is mishandled booking totally undermining any anticipation they might otherwise have possessed. Of all the massive balls-ups made in arranging these contests, few can compete with the utter shambles the company has made with the Raw women's title match.

It really was a very easy scenario: have Charlotte maintain her PPV record, only to be bested by super-popular Bayley for a memorable, star-making coronation. Too predictable? Well... so what? Sometimes things are predictable because its the most sensible route.

Instead, we have a match where the face is defending, Charlotte has no streak to maintain, and Nia Jax is involved. Where's the tangible hook to grasp onto here? Why should we care about a belt which has been dragged through the mud of a post-festival field? Still, once upon a time Dana Brooke featured heavily in WWE's plans, so at least that experiment proved a bust.

Anyway, the match will likely be pretty good, such is the meticulous preparation of the performers involved, eager to prove their more than worthy of their slot. Anything but a Bayley win will leave the crowd fuming - she's essentially in there with three heels. Could Sasha go full evil and cost her pal the belt? It's possible. Either way, that's your final two.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
