WrestleMania 36: 10 Matches We Want To See (And How To Book Them)

2. Roman Reigns vs The Rock

Roman Rock
WWE

Fun story, I'd actually written this match on my list before the Superstar Shake Up and had no idea how I was going to conceive an interesting way to make the match happen beyond simply "Roman challenges him and he says yes". You all deserve better than that, just about. Then of course they moved him over to SmackDown and the story unspooled itself in my mind like a bog roll tumbling down some stairs.

How You Book It: Right so, despite what your boyfriend thinks, Roman's quite good. You'd have him on a singles crusade on SmackDown that looks for all the world like it's building to an inevitable Royal Rumble win so he can challenge at WrestleMania. But for the first time since he arrived on the brand, he falls short, eliminated by a collection of other SmackDown stars who he's steamrollered through over the course of last year.

The next night he hits the ring and demands to face everyone who eliminated him so he can teach them some respect. He can teach them that he is the biggest dog in the yard over here and that... and this is the good bit... "SmackDown is Roman Reigns' show..."

Cue The Rock's music and the reminder that this ain't Roman's show, it ain't [whoever the authority figure at the time is]'s show, this is The Rock's show. And hey, since he's got no plans for WrestleMania, how about The Rock gets back in The Rock's ring and shows him why.
