WrestleMania 36 To Go Ahead Despite Coronavirus Threat
WWE is pushing forward with their 'Mania plans.
WWE has issued a statement to ESPN claiming that they plan on pushing ahead with their plans for WrestleMania 36 despite the coronavirus pandemic.
The release reads as follows:-
“The health and safety of our fans, performers and employees are our top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely with our partners and government officials in Tampa Bay. We remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, and like other entertainment properties in the U.S., there are currently no plans to cancel or postpone our upcoming events."
It was reported earlier in the week that WWE had held a meeting to discuss the coronavirus threat prior to Raw, while Stephanie McMahon commented on the situation during a 'Mania 36 luncheon last week, noting that WWE was monitoring it.
WrestleMania 36 is set to go down in Tampa, Florida, where there have been two reported coronavirus cases thus far. Yesterday saw Miami's Ultra Music Festival cancelled for fear of the affliction spreading.
For now, it looks like WWE is holding firm, though things could change if the situation worsens. This is definitely something for wrestling fans to monitor over the coming days and weeks.
