Wrestlers With The Most World Titles (Across All Major Federations)
30. Kevin Owens (6)
3 PWG World Championships
1 Universal Championship
1 ROH Championship
1 NXT Championship
WWE don't seem to realize this, but Kevin Owens is still one of the best cards in their deck. He's got stamina, a great moveset, can work a variety of matches, doesn't mind taking huge risks and is as good as anyone on the roster to tell a story between the ropes. What's more, he's easily one of the most natural and original mic workers in the company.
What's frustrating is WWE got Owens absolutely right the first couple of years. His NXT heel turn on Sami Zayn, his debut against John Cena, his Intercontinental Championship run, his pairing with Chris Jericho and Universal Championship win... Solid angles through which KO was allowed to show brilliant heel work paired with good in-ring action. Then they sacrificed him on the part-timers' altar and his career was a creative mess ever since (doesn't bode well for The Fiend, does it ?) The man is still only 36, but unfortunately WWE has a tendency to give up on the wrestlers they screwed, and often lament the lack of main-event appeal of superstars whose main-event credibility they destroyed themselves.
On the indies, Kevin Steen holds the record for most PWG World Championships with three. Among the former PWG champions who subsequently won major WWE titles, we can also list AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan or Adam Cole (there seems to be little hope for Kevin's real life best friend though).
