Wrestlers With The Most World Titles (Across All Major Federations)
29. The Undertaker (7)
4 World Heavyweight Championships
3 WWE Championships
If WWE were to give The Undertaker a Ric Flair style of send-off (not that he wouldn't deserve it), just imagine the range of people that would come walking down the aisle. We're talking Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Ted DiBiase, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Kevin Nash, Mick Foley, The Rock, Steve Austin, Kane, Big Show, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, Batista, Edge, Roman Reigns... Almost anyone who was someone in WWE these last 25 years has had significant history with 'Taker. That speaks of his importance to the business more than any world title could. Being a seven-time world champion is an honourable achievement, but only scratches the surface of why he is one of the most respected and revered pro wrestlers alive today.
Made to work with a laughable character, he managed to turn it into the greatest wrestling gimmick of all time. Through his acting, his understanding of the role and quality of his matches, 'Taker took what could've been a burden and made a priceless asset of it. Up until his body didn't allow the level of performance required for it any more, The Undertaker endowed his appearances with an unequalled sense of epicness and significance. It's as if we actually believed lives and souls were at stake when he stepped between the ropes. Take away The Undertaker's contribution to WWE, the legendary matches, angles and promos, and the company's catalog would instantly be downgraded a star or two below.
