Wrestling’s 10 Biggest Missed Opportunities Of 2023
4. No Kenny Omega Singles Match At Wembley
Sticking in the trios corner of All Elite Wrestling, arguably the greatest wrestler on planet earth today found himself in one of those very contests at what was billed as the biggest wrestling show in history.
It's not even the fact said Dynamite-level match felt entirely thrown together - Jay White's sudden obsession with taking out former Bullet Club leader Kenny Omega came completely out of nowhere - that infuriated fans.
It was the idea of sitting down inside of a packed Wembley Stadium at All In 2023 and not seeing 'The Cleaner' put on a five-star classic against bitter rival Konosuke Takeshita at easily the most important show in the company's history that really felt unforgivable.
Tony Khan did have a second PPV to sell a week later, sure. But would All Out have honestly suffered that much with one less contest on a 13-match (!) card?
Now there's every chance Kenny will get his moment to shine at next year's edition of the stadium spectacular.
Should Omega suffer an unexpected injury and be forced to do a Danielson and watch on from the sidelines in 2024, though, Khan's call to save his 'Cleaner' for Chicago could go down as one of the biggest missed opportunities in AEW history.
