19. Shane McMahon Revealed As Kayfabe WCW Owner (March 26, 2001)
On the same Raw/Nitro simulcast, the WWF dropped a bombshell in announcing that Shane McMahon was the storyline owner of WCW. At the time, Shane was locked in a bitter onscreen rivalry with his father, something the WCW purchase played into. In media interviews, the younger McMahon promised that WCW would relaunch as a separate brand to the WWF and have their own events and TV programming.
