AJ Lee is wrestling’s greatest Kay-Bae. Her WWE gimmick seamlessly alternated between devoted girlfriend and crazy ex-girlfriend, often enough to keep the crowd entertained and on side. Of all the fake girlfriends listed, Lee used the role to get herself over just as much as her partner. Often, she completely seized the spotlight.

After briefly being romantically linked to Hornswoggle, AJ was booked in an on-screen relationship with Daniel Bryan. This inserted her into the World Heavyweight Championship picture at the top of the card. She was integral to Bryan’s run with the championship, even if her good luck kiss led to Bryan dropping the title in 18 seconds at WrestleMania XXVIII. The two’s love triangle alongside Lee’s real life husband CM Punk gave all three some good material to work with. Being left a slighted woman, AJ became Raw General Manager, a privilege which she leveraged to punish the men in her life.

AJ’s initial foray into the main roster no doubt increased her popularity and propelled her on her way to becoming a three-time Divas Champion.
