WWE: 10 Best Facts About Daniel Bryan's Success Story

9. He's A Positive Role Model

One of the reasons John Cena has had a deathgrip on the top spot in WWE for so many years is because he's the ideal man to serve as the face of the company. When WWE became a publicly traded corporation, more emphasis was placed on maintaining a positive image. When the Chris Benoit murders occurred, Cena stepped up and represented the entire business of professional wrestling in a positive light and showed that he was deserving of being the man WWE hung their fortunes on. Through his charitable efforts (the ones WWE promotes endlessly, not Cena himself), he's earned his place at that throne. Daniel Bryan, if WWE is willing, can be the successor to John Cena. CM Punk made it a point to tell anyone who would listen that he was straight edge, completely drug and alcohol free, yet managed to do so in a manner that caused him to come off like a condescending jerk. Bryan is also alcohol and drug free, yet rather than tooting his own horn and making it his gimmick he lives a healthy lifestyle without constant preaching. Quietly active in the Make-A-Wish Foundation and other charities, he can willingly fill that role as well. He's a guy who corporate management will never have to worry about embarrassing the company by doing or saying something stupid. He's likely not going to wind up in any scandals, you don't have to monitor his twitter for offensive content and don't hold your breath for any leaked sex tapes with Brie Bella. Contrary to the story the creative side has been telling since SummerSlam, Daniel Bryan is the kind of person we should be proud to have as the face of WWE.
