1. Bret Wins The Rumble
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soJhHsBhI6I Surely Royal Rumble 1994 was a tumultuous night for my family. Earlier in the evening, our brother Owen had turned on Bret and injured his knee. Approximately an hour later Bret became the 27th entrant into the 1994 Rumble match and the live crowd rejoiced happily as their hero was on his way to the ring injury and all. With a noticeable limp, Bret struggled through and eventually won albeit in controversial fashion. As he and Lex Luger stared across the ring it became evident that the crowd was going to see one of their heroes prevail. To the shock of the sold out Providence crowd, both men tumbled over the top rope at the same time. Replays from every angle indicated that both men's feet had touched down at the same time. Former president Jack Tunney then came ringside to declare that both men would share the mantle as the winner of the Royal Rumble and subsequently both men would continue on to Wrestlemania to challenge Yokozuna in separate bouts for the chance at a the championship. It was my brother Bret who would ultimately go on to win the championship that year in the main event of Wrestlemania 10.
