3. Rey Mysterio Jnr
In terms of Lucha Libre wrestlers that have cracked the big times, the biggest name that comes up is Rey Mysterio Jnr who has had successful stints in both the WCW and the WWE. While Mysterio is one of the fan favourites, he hasn't achieved bigger success is due to frequent injuries that have kept him sidelined for several months at a time, including at the present time where he is currently out with a knee injury that has already kept him off air since March this year. However, there is no doubting that the "Giant Killer" or the "Biggest Little Man" has serious in ring talent, has been the WWE Champion once and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion twice and has been in a variety of different tag team championship combinations at both the WWE and at WCW. Outside of his amazing titles, Rey Mysterio also phenomenally won the 2006 Royal Rumble match, coming in second and eliminating 6 people, including Triple H, Randy Orton and Rob Van Dam. Rey Mysterio has had various feuds with his great close friends including Batista and Eddie Guerrero, the later passing away in the middle of their last feud. Still, Mysterios exciting, quick paced chain wrestling style has won over the fans, as has his finisher the "619", which is one of the most exciting finishers in the WWE. Mysterio also has a great record in Luchas de Apuestas matches, with a record of 10-1, which included two victories over Eddie Guerrero (one for his WCW Cruiserweight Title, and the other for the custody of Rey's son Dominick).
