8. Kane Is Unmasked
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we-K3YvkvdM After being unsuccessful in his initial hunt for Triple H's World Heavyweight Championship, Kane was given another opportunity at Madison Square Garden in 2003, with the proviso that if he lost, he would have to unmask. Fan anticipation was ratcheted up a fair few notches, as we had been teased with the idea of what was underneath Kanes mask for years, picturing the grotesque, burnt up freak that he was billed as being in his early years. Of course, Kane lost and was forced to unmask, revealing at long last.... a bad haircut, coupled with what appeared to be a face covered in smudged marker pen. From then on, the storyline went the way of Kane's firm belief that he was burnt and scarred all being in his mind, because he quite obviously wasn't. Kane would later don the mask again in 2011 (overcompensating, some would say, by wearing two masks) before relinquishing it again late last year. Debate still rages about whether unmasking Kane was a good idea, but it did re-establish him as a monster, which was absolutely necessary.
