2. Austin Stuns McMahon For The Very First Time
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8rYILw_uLg#aid=P-cWfuRQo7Q Throughout the late '90s, the entire wrestling industry was dominated by the Monday Night Wars between WWF Raw and WCW Nitro. And for a time, it could have honestly gone either way. Vince gradually managed the turn the tide his way through cultivating stars like The Rock, Triple H and Mick Foley, among others. But if there's one angle that we can point at with hindsight at say "that was it, that was the game changer", it has to be the feud between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mr McMahon. The idea of inflicting physical harm on an authority figure was unheard of in 1997. And while Eric Bischoff may have done the villainous authority figure first, it was McMahon who perfected it, so much so that to this day the WWE has always had one. The image of Stone Cold Steve Austin being dragged off of McMahon and led away in handcuffs is one that defined his character from then on. Make no mistake, this is the moment that kickstarted the Austin-McMahon feud that would dominate WWF programming, which wouldn't end until Wrestlemania 17 in 2001. You could argue that it's the single most important moment in WWE history; from the moment that Stone Cold kicked McMahon in the stomach and dropped his head on his shoulder, WWE won the Monday Night Wars.
