http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzzmvDuswHc I actually included Warriors 1996 run in my Returns That Fizzled article, but at least it started effectively enough with Warrior squashing the future COO like a bug and no-selling the Pedigree. Personally I think it would be funny if HHH inducted Warrior into the Hall with a 30 second speech in retribution. I basically include it here because I think its funny when HHH gets humiliated. Unfortunately they had no real followup to this, or really any reason for the match to happen in the first place. There is something of a revisionist history around this match that says it was part of HHHs punishment for the MSG Curtain Call, but that didnt happen until two months after this match. So really they just wanted a midcarder for Warrior to beat like a drum and HHH was the lucky one. It was also kind of a weird era in that Warrior hadnt been gone long enough to be missed by nostalgic fans, so he was in a weird no-mans land between 80s has-been and retro cool.
