8. Kurt Angle Moonsault & Chris Benoit Headbutt Off The Cage (June 11, 2001)
"Oh my God! Angle went for everything and got nothing!" - Jim Ross When Kurt Angle wrestled on Raw inside a steel cage, it was just another great match in a series of matches between two of the best wrestlers in WWE at that time and all time. Most of their matches prior to this one were technical wrestling classics. When they went inside the cage we really didn't know what to expect from it. What we got was a match with a couple of "holy sh*t" moments that we didn't think were going to happen. The first one came when Kurt Angle decided to climb up the cage. Instead of climbing down the other side to win the match, he decided jump back into the ring with the moonsault that he regularly used. Angle actually did the spot recently in TNA, which is insane for him to do now as a guy in his mid-40s with so many injuries. In 2001, he was only in his second full time year in WWE. It was scary to watch then and it was scary to watch recently too. As for Benoit, he climbed up later in the match and was looking to climb down, but the heel WWE Champion Steve Austin was waiting for him (he was on commentary). Figuring he couldn't get out of the cage that way, Benoit did a top rope headbutt that connected. That had to hurt both guys at least a little bit. There have been other "off the cage" moments in WWE, but this match is one I'll never forget because it was two guys doing it and the crowd went wild for it.
